THE GROVE | FIJI
Brand strategy, identity, motion, content and Canva
setupfor a much-loved Port Denarau café entering
its next chapter.
Industry: Hospitality | Location: Port Denarau, Fiji

The Opportunity
Café O was a well-loved part of Port
Denarau, known by locals, yacht crew
and visitors from around the world.
Its transition into The Grove needed
to introduce something fresh while
protecting the connection it had built.

We began with the place itself
A large mural inside the café told the story of the mangroves and marine life beneath Denarau’s reclaimed land.
Its organic lines, layered forms and natural movement became the
foundation for an identity that felt
native to its surroundings.
Logo suite
We drew the logo suite by hand, from
the mangrove-inspired mark to the
letters. Those natural imperfections
give it warmth, movement and a
human feel that belongs in the space.
Colour from the landscape
The Grove’s palette draws from the natural colour and character of island life. Fresh greens and reef blues sit alongside hibiscus pink and sun-washed yellow, grounded by softer tones inspired by driftwood.
Icons
Lifted directly from the mural, the icons create a subtle visual language that brings extra character and a little pizazz to the system, especially when woven into typographic lockups.

Brand Pillars
We created four brand pillars to guide how The Grove feels, communicates
and makes decisions.
Together, they capture the experience at the heart of the brand. A place to pause, share good food and feel welcome, brought to life with thoughtful cooking and a distinctly Fijian spirit.

Social media
We gave The Grove themed content pillars and easy-to-edit Canva templates, making it simple for the team to know what to post and create engaging, on-brand content themselves.

From The Grove
Flock also thought about how we would use the brand day to day. The Canva templates have made it easy for our team to create menus, promotions and social content while keeping everything consistent.
The rebrand has been incredibly well received by our local communities, including the original owner of Café O. People can see that it respects what came before while giving The Grove a strong new chapter. We are genuinely proud of it.
- Mike Green | Owner
Jamesy understood what made The Grove special very quickly. He took the story behind our mural, the history of the site and the café’s slightly quirky personality, then built a clear brand strategy around it. The result feels fresh and polished, but still warm, playful and recognisably us.
